Reboots and (keeping of) equipment

  • Marking items as "yours"

    Suggestion:
Add some way to 'mark' or 'sign' items as belonging to you. The idea behind this is that when you log out you can pass a items to someone else. By marking it it would be easier to reclaim the item.

    Denied because:
We are very strict about this. Any item you possess when you log out is no longer yours from our point of view. You therefore have nothing to 'reclaim' when you log back on. With that in mind, it should be clear that something like marking items will never be implemented. As a side note to this: players have worked out a way among themselves to pass certain valuable items on to others and get it back when they log back on. That is perfectly fine. If you receive an item under such an agreement, you are of course morally obliged to return it when the time comes. But that is all strictly between players and not something that will be supported in any way by code in the mudlib.

  • Lordroom keys for friends

    Suggestion:
It would be nice if we had numberlocks on our lordrooms or if we could specify who can enter our (locked) lordroom. Perhaps we could have spare keys that we can give to others.

    Denied because:
Lordrooms are valuable within MS, as they give lords and ladies a way to store items and they can be reasonably sure that those items will be still there when they log back on (assuming their room was locked). The lordroom as such is theirs and only theirs. We will not supply anything that will grant a way to benefit from rooms to others than those who earned the right (spouses are an exception). Of course, you have the option to leave your room unlocked - but then anyone can enter it.

  • Special storage for items that vanish when being sold or stored in guild storages

    Suggestion:
Certain (valuable) items disappear when I donate them to the guild or sell them in the shop. Can't you code something that will let us store these items, so that others can use them?

    Denied because:
These items disappear for a reason. The wizard who made them didn't want them to stick around for too long or too easily. It is therefore obvious that from our point of view special facilities that would allow storage of those items are not desirable.
