Basti the Cruel
Basti was for many years chief counseller of King Suleyman, the previous ruler of the city. When the hordes of death first assailed Minbara, the might of Basti and his study of the magical arts was instrumental in engineering victory. However as the years passed and Basti grew old, he was filled with a fear of death and a thirst for immortality. It is believed that Vlaurkir knew of these fears, having spies within the city and seduced Basti to the ways of evil, promising him great power and the secret of Immortality. Once loved by the common people Basti is now known as Basti the Cruel, travellers whisper of the terrible deeds said to have been commited in his hidden torture chamber. Basti's hideout is thought to be within the city walls themselves but the soldiers in Minbara have searched for it in vain.
