Behind Dragonspine mountains begins a steppy land which further transits into a desert.

In this part of the Realms you will find mainly puny steppe animals that are not too hard to kill. DON'T confuse them with tough bold adventurers and tramps walking around !!!

You can also experiment with solving puzzles which is a good school for questing. All you have to do is to look around and try other commands than 'kill' now and then. The reward shall be that you come to places you wouldn't otherwise find and get things you wouldn't discover ("enter","climb",...).

To get to the entrance of this area, "hitchhike mountains" from the tower of dragons. The steppe and desert are 2 down from the point you landed at. It is safe to go 5 times in any direction. Further the land isn't 100% newbie-friendly anymore, especially west of the landing point.

If you want to walk there on your feet, the way from the login point is: 2 * north, 8 * east, 5 * south, southeast, 2 * east, 2 * southeast (now you should be at a crossroad in the Neverwinter wood), 3 * east, 8 * south, southeast, south, southeast and up (and you will be at the point from which you can hitchhike back).
